1981 Fender Collectors Edition Telecaster
Serial CE10281. This '81 collectors edition tele has so much bling going on with all the brass appointments. The guitar has loads of character. The body has a fair amount of finish checking, but the jet black finish only has a couple very small spots it has worn through. Fender brass thru-body bridge assembly with 6 individual brass saddles. Original single-coil pickups with 3-way selector, master volume and master tone. Fender F tuning machines. Locking strap buttons. 4-bolt maple neck & fingerboard with 21 frets at 25.5" scale length. Painted black headstock has small area of finish wear at top. Some fret wear but no buzzing throughout register. Brass appointments on all hardware. 3-ply black-wht-black pickguard. Original inspection tag and registration card included. Original tweed hardshell case and vintage Fender strap with matching brass locks. All the models in the Collector's series – released between 1981 and 1982 – bear the distinct 2-letter prefix "CE" (Collector's Edition) on the headstock. The "CE" is always followed by one of three digits, "1", "2" or "3", which signifies the year of issue as 1981, 1982 or 1983. These models, all designed for collectors, share rare and unusual combinations of hi-end features, finishes and cosmetic appointments.
