About this Auction

The Vermont Pub & Brewery oval logo with a beer glass and “Est. 1988” and “Burlington” text

After 38 wonderful years, The Vermont Pub & Brewery is sadly closing their doors. Since 2020, they’ve struggled to get back to the level of business that is necessary to sustain their operation, and unfortunately they just don’t have the resources to hold out any longer for that day to come. The last full day of service will be Saturday, November 14th.

Thomas Hirchak Company will conduct an online auction to help them liquidate their brewing operation - details to come.

ONLINE AUCTION FAQs

  • Is this auction online-only?

Yes. Our commercial auctions allow buyers to register and bid online from anywhere.

However, we do provide a date and time to come preview all auction lots before the auction close date.

  • How do I bid in this Online Auction?

Register through the online bidding platform linked on this auction page (See RED BOX in top right of this auction page). After your registration is approved, you can place bids on individual lots throughout the scheduled bidding period.

We recommend registering early and reviewing the complete Terms and Conditions before bidding.

  • Can I inspect the items before bidding?

If a Preview is scheduled, prospective bidders can inspect auction items during the listed Preview date and time. Preview information, including the location and any appointment requirements, is provided on this auction page.

Buyers are encouraged to inspect items and conduct appropriate due diligence before bidding.

  • Is there a buyer's premium?

A buyer's premium or other applicable fees may be added to the successful bid. The amount can vary by auction.

Review this auction's complete Terms and Conditions before bidding for the applicable buyer's premium, payment requirements, and other charges.

  • How do online auctions work?

Online auctions sell business assets to the highest bidder. Equipment is evaluated, marketed to qualified buyers, and sold through competitive bidding online according to the published auction terms.

  • Are auction items sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS?

Many commercial and equipment auction items are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, subject to the individual auction's Terms and Conditions. Buyers should carefully review available photographs and descriptions, inspect items during the scheduled Preview when possible, and conduct appropriate due diligence before bidding.

  • What happens if someone bids near the closing time?

Many of our Online Auctions use bidding extensions, sometimes called a soft close. If a qualifying bid is placed near the scheduled closing time, additional bidding time may be added to that lot, giving other bidders an opportunity to respond.

Always review the auction Terms and Conditions for the specific closing and extension rules.

  • How and when do I pay if I win?

Successful bidders will receive payment information following the auction. Accepted payment methods and payment deadlines vary, so review this auction's Terms and Conditions for the specific requirements.

Do not bid unless you are prepared to complete your purchase within the required timeframe.

  • When do I pick up the items I purchased?

Purchased items must be removed according to the Item Removal date, time, location, and requirements listed for this auction.

Review the Item Removal information before bidding to make sure you can meet the scheduled requirements.

  • Am I responsible for loading and transporting my purchases?

Loading and transportation requirements vary by auction and item. Buyers will be responsible for providing the labor, tools, vehicles, trailers, rigging, machinery movers, or other equipment necessary to safely remove their purchases.

Review the Item Removal information and Terms and Conditions before bidding, especially when purchasing large equipment or machinery.

  • THIRD PARTY SHIPPING NOTICE

Shipping, when available, is handled by independent third-party shipping providers that are not affiliated with The Thomas Hirchak Company. These providers set their own packing, handling, and shipping rates. Buyers who choose to use a third-party shipper are responsible for all associated costs and arrangements. The Thomas Hirchak Company is not responsible for shipping pricing, services, or any loss or damage that may occur during transport. Buyers may also arrange their own shipping or pick up items during the designated removal period.
